Amanda joined the Aliaxis UK team in June 2022, as Territory Sales Manager for Multi-Utilities in the South of England.

What made you choose Aliaxis UK as an employer?

The first thing that caught my eye was the quality of the products, as well as Aliaxis itself, due to their clear values. I felt that with my background in construction I would bring valuable skills and knowledge to the role. There was also clear room for progression – so ticked all my career boxes really!

What has been a highlight for you in your time so far?

The highlight for me so far has to be my immediate team. Between the three of us we create an amazing support network for each other, and work so well together!

What does a typical day look like for you?

No day is the same! As my position covers the whole of the south of England, I get to travel a lot whilst visiting customers. No matter where I am or who I am with, customer satisfaction is at the heart of what I do.

What is it that you love about this industry?

I love to see a product go through a process from start to finish, regardless of what is being made or where it may end up. At Aliaxis I get to see our products progress from the factory through to the vital applications they service across the country. I also love the variation this industry brings, every day is different and I have the opportunity to meet so many amazing people.

What advice would you give to your younger self, if you could speak to them right now?

Gain experience when and where you can, and don’t be afraid to say ‘I don’t know’ – because then you can start asking the right questions and expanding your knowledge. In my career I have thrown myself into every opportunity, and ended up doing demonstrations of building walls, drilling holes and even fixing anchors to a wall!

What’s something you hope for the future of the industry?

The future of this industry is the younger generation, and I would like to see the industry introduced to them as a career option sooner. The myth that in this industry every job requires a hard hat and high-vis should also be challenged – there are so many roles in sales, marketing, finance etc. that offer a diverse and exciting career path.
