High-rise drainage systems are getting their first major update in decades. The new CIBSE TM70:2025 - Tall Buildings Drainage Design, part of CIBSE Guide G, introduces mandatory commissioning tests and sets new standards for safer, healthier buildings.

Aliaxis UK has played a key role in the research behind this groundbreaking guidance, using its 75m drainage testing facility at the Training and Research Centre, in Northampton, to help validate thousands of simulation models.

To help the industry understand these changes, Aliaxis UK is hosting a free webinar in partnership with elementalONLINE on Tuesday, February 3, at 11am, entitled Game-Changer for High-Rise Drainage: CIBSE TM70:2025 Explained.

The event will feature a live discussion and a Q&A session with a panel of experts:

  • Prof. Michael Gormley - Professor of Public Health and Environmental Engineering
  • Jassim Daureeawo - CIBSE SoPHE Technical Committee Chair
  • Steve White - Technical Director Global Building Segment at Aliaxis UK

Together, they will offer a well-rounded perspective, covering the academic research and evidence base, the industry and manufacturer viewpoint, and the practical application and intent of the guidance for designers and engineers.

David Thomas, Head of Technical Support Services at Aliaxis UK, said: “This is a unique opportunity to explore the new guidance, understand mandatory commissioning tests, and learn how to ensure high-rise drainage systems are safe and compliant.

“The Technical Memorandum itself has undergone nearly 60 peer reviews, including input from our NLT team, who supported Heriot-Watt University in developing and defining the new commissioning protocol.”

David added: “We hope the webinar will give people the opportunity to learn more about the changes and how we can support them, while the Q&A session will allow people to delve deeper into the new Technical Memorandum.”
