New e-learning module for PE pipes

We have developed a new e-learning module to support distribution customers, contractors and installers with information on the features and benefits of polyethylene (PE) pipe systems.

With a range of below-ground pipe systems available to transport potable and non-potable water and gas, we want to ensure customers are equipped with the knowledge they need regarding all of the options available to them.

The new module is designed as an introduction to PE Pipe Systems and offers an overview of their properties, along with the applications they are suitable for. Visitors to the module will also learn more about the different installation techniques that PE pipe can be used for and the variety of jointing methods available. Best Practice guidance for handling and storing PE pipe systems is also covered within the module.

Commenting on the new module, our Infrastructure Segment Manager, James Roper, said: “With a variety of options available for under-ground pipework systems there are often misconceptions about suitability and capabilities of different materials.  We want to ensure people have the correct information about PE pipe systems so they have the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions regarding product selection.”

This module complements our other e-learning modules, which include Protecta-Line, our dedicated pipe and fittings system for transporting potable water through contaminated land, as well as a module on the Philmac compression fittings range, which is suitable for use with our PE pipes.

All of the modules can be accessed via the Aliaxis Academy at www.aliaxisacademy.co.uk.

Our e-learning modules are designed to offer an overview of our systems, for more detailed technical information or installation advice, please contact the technical support team on 01480 442600.
